As part of my dissertation work, I realized the need for a simple, organized index of The Englishwoman’s Domestic Magazine digitized volumes that are already in the public domain and available online. My dissertation focuses primarily on the period of the magazine between 1856 and 1865, when Isabella Mary Mayson Beeton (of later fame for the Book of Household Management) worked as a translator, columnist, and editor, particularly the years 1857-1861.
Because of the difficulty I encountered finding a chronological index of the magazine’s 3 series, I’m maintaining one here. Please feel free to contact me with comments, questions or suggestions.
Each link below goes directly to the volume mentioned. When possible, I note which have missing numbers and/or peripheral original material such as advertisements, covers, etc. If there is no note here about what’s included, the default is that it is only numbered pages, from a scan in volume form, without covers, advertising, or supplemental material.
